Google Maps + Subway stops

The Google Maps mash-ups keep rolling in. My friend Seth Fitzsimmons just mocked up a working demo of Boston-area subway stops in a Google maps interface. Zoom out one level before clicking “MBTA Map” in the upper right corner. It’s rough, but it works. How slick!

Google Maps + Boston MBTA

There are a lot of interesting applications that could sit on a dataset like this. Mike Krypel and I were wondering how open Google might be commercial use of Maps. I’m betting we’ll see an open API within a year, and a lot of homespun applications like this in the meantime.

Google Maps + ?
Google Maps is one of the coolest and insanely well done web applications to pop up in this current round of web 2.0 apps. And, with the addition of satellite imaging, it has pretty much become the gold standard of online mapping pretty much overnight….
