Barcamp NYC

I’ve wanted to organize a Barcamp in New York City ever since the first one took place in Palo Alto last August. After talking to Chris Messina about it while he was in NYC last weekend, I’ve decided to make a go of it this November/December after I return from India.

A description from the Barcamp wiki:

BarCamp is an ad-hoc un-conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees.

Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn are welcome and invited to join.

When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.

Interested? Want to attend, help organize, or sponsor? (We’ll be looking for small sponsorships to cover the cost of food and for someone to donate office space for a couple days.) Email me or leave a comment.

+1!
Where/when will you announce the time/place? Please don’t say Barcamp wiki, as I can’t subscribe to that (passive vs. active stuff).

Hi Otis.

You can expect to see the time/place here and on the wiki. If you add yourself to the attendees list with your email, I’ll be sure to send you a note when we have it chosen.
