Introducing Jelly - a weekly work-together

Jelly! Most Thursdays Luke and I will be hosting people to work from our home. We’ve done this five or six times before and it’s worked really well.

You bring your laptop and some work, we provide a space and some interesting people. It’s fun and you get your work done. We call it Jelly.

We’ll have a Jelly this Thursday; let me know if you’d like to come. (Midtown Manhattan, 3-4 blocks from every subway.)

Details on the house blog…

[...] At Jelly last week, Josh passed around a really great set of badges for Mail.app to replace those awful, retina-burning, red “new mail” badges that were the biggest cause of loss of concentration for me; I absolutely couldn’t stand to have that badge show up and would mark messages as read even if I hadn’t dealt with them. I promised to package them up for easy distribution, and finally got around to it yesterday with the help of Platypus. Check it out and let Josh know how much you love it! I really like this concept because it brings together such a cross-section of potential projects, problems, ideas and approaches (I suppose it helps that the list reads like a who’s who of the next wave of successful Web companies and business leaders ;)).

How successful has it been so far? I’m thinking of starting a small-scale one like this for the WFU community — does actual work get done, and how do people interact?
