Nifty info display at Meetup.com

Last week I went to visit Scott Heiferman at Meetup for some advice. Scott’s an incredible entrepreneur and I’ve admired him for a long time.

While I was there, I spotted this neat info screen hovering above a hallway. Every second or two, a new bubble popped up indicating some activity on meetup.com, and the map would pan over to show where it took place.

Nifty!

This kind of ambient information display goes a long way towards making all that abstract information your website’s collecting (visitors, time on site, subscriptions, pageviews) a little more real.
