Probably, though the alternative (nobody making any friends at all) seems much worse.

The Facebook API is fairly robust, I don't think it would have been much of a leap to let you tie your facebook account with your Plaxo. They could have used all those existing friend relationships to pre-populate Pulse connections. Maybe something similar is also possible with reciprocal connections on Flickr, Linkedin, and Twitter. Point being, many of us have already built that social graph elsewhere. If Plaxo's serious about tying it altogether, they need to get serious about using the information that's out there in a meaningful way.

There's a way to figure out these privacy issues.

(Btw, isn't it interesting that their blog claims they're not competing, but facebook integration is a glaringly-obvious ommission?)

I'm equally shocked that this functionality wasn't included. It seems like a no-brainer. Do you think there were privacy concerns?

I'm equally shocked they make you re-invite people. It seems like a no-brainer to include that functionality. Do you think there are privacy concerns?
